Download Respondus 3.5

The process for purchasing Respondus or obtaining a 30-day free trial is nearly the same. In both cases you must first download and install the Respondus software. Then you need to either purchase a permanent activation password or register for a temporary password that is good for 30 days.

Important Instructions:
There are 4 steps to downloading and installing Respondus. Here's an overview:

  1. Download the installation program.

  2. Install Respondus, start the software, and obtain the Product ID# displayed on the opening screen.

  3. Go to registration section of Respondus.com and purchase a permanent activation password or register for a free 30-day trial. The appropriate password is immediately e-mailed to you.

  4. Enter the password in the Respondus software to activate the program. That's it!

Step 1 — Download the Installation Program
The installation program for Respondus can be downloaded from one of the locations listed below:

Respondus 3.5 Setup Application Download from Server #1
Download from Server #2
Note: you may have to right-button mouse click a link above to download the software to your hard drive. If Server 1 is busy, try Server 2.

Step 2 — Install and Start Respondus 3.5
Use Windows' My Computer or Explorer to locate the Respondus35.exe file downloaded in Step 1. Double-click the file to start the Respondus installation program. Several screens will guide you through the installation program. Once Respondus is installed, start the program by double-clicking the Respondus icon that is now located on the Windows desktop. Or follow these steps to start the software.

Click [Start] from the Windows desktop
    Click [Programs]
    Click [Respondus]
    Click [Respondus 3.5]

The first time you start Respondus (and each time thereafter until the program is registered), you will be presented with a screen that provides the "Product ID#." The Product ID# is used in Step 3 to obtain the password required to activate the software.

Step 3 — Register Your Copy of Respondus
Go to www.respondus.com and click on "Registration." Select the option to purchase a permanent activation password or to register for a 30-day trial. In both cases you are required to enter the Product ID# (see Step 2) and a valid e-mail address. Once the registration or purchase information is submitted, the password is immediately sent to the e-mail address you provided.

Step 4 — Enter the Activation Password
Once you receive the password by e-mail, it must be entered into the Respondus program. If you haven't done so already, start Respondus (see Step 2). Enter your password when prompted (you may want to "copy and paste" the password from the e-mail message in order to prevent typing mistakes). Click [OK] to continue. The Respondus software is now activated. You will not need to repeat Steps 1-4 in the future, except when upgrading to the latest version of the software. Note that online help is available within the Respondus program. A user guide may also be downloaded.
